Calcium Nitrate

Property:
Calcium Nitrate is colorless and transparent monoclinic crystal. It easily dissolve in water, methyl alcohol and alcohol. It is highly deliquescent in the atmosphere. As oxidizer, it will burn and explode with red flame when meeting organics and sulphur.

Packing:
Plastic woven bag or kraft paper bag inner with plastic bag in 25kg/ 50kg/ 500kg/1000kg net.
Protection:
Operators should wear protective smock including respirator and rubber gloves, etc. Be careful not to inhale the powder of calcium nitrate to protect respiration apparatus. In the case of a fire, use water, soil or other fire extinguishing media but aqueous solution must be prevented to flow towards inflammable materials.
Handling and Storage:
Store in a cool and dry house. The package must be sealed up and protected from moisture. Avoid mixing with organic compound or sulphur during storage and transportation. Prevent the material from rain and insolation. Load and unload carefully. In the case of a fire, use water, soil or other fire extinguishing media but aqueous solution must be prevented to flow towards inflammable materials.
Applications:
It is mainly used as flocculant in rubber latex and refrigerant. And it is also employed in oil exploratory well and sewage treatment, etc. In agriculture it is used as soiless culture and fast-effective fertilizer for acid soil. It also can be used to make fireworks and incandescent lamp chimney in light industry, to produce explosives in national defense industry and to paint negative pole in electron instrument industry. It is also a raw material in making other nitrates.
